Upon connecting to the network your IP Address is logged to the servers as well as made available to network IRC Ops (and potentially regular clients if you disable UMode +x). This information is not sold or given out to anyone (without just cause or warrent of request).

Registering a nickname on the network requires use of a valid email address, the email address is not sold or given out to anyone at all and is only used to authenticate nicks to avoid spam registrations mainly.
