Been awhile since a news posting has been made, so might as well make one now with the fairly big changes that came lately.

We've been having some issues with splits the past month, while I worked to resolve them as best as I could, they were happening on too many servers than I was happy with randomly splitting.

The past two days have shown a good few connection issues, routing issues mainly across a couple servers, not really sure what the cause of it is, its not just one server as much as a few servers hosted at a couple different datacenters entirely. Two new servers added just now, Peleus server and IPv6 (I know, such a simple name), IPv6 currently is our new EU server to replace the old EU servers we lost awhile back, however its also our current IPv6 supporting server, so we now support IPv6 connections.

Around 1AM Eastern Time (EST/EDT/GMT-5) August 4th 2007, there will be some downtime to the servers to upgrade the software, the upgrades shouldn't take more than a few minutes per-server to restart them after the recompile.

DNS failures at the HUB at this moment. The issue is currently being resolved.

edit: DNS issues have been resolved as far as can be told, and all servers have been relinked.

Random reminder that, while connecting and using the network is free, running it and maintaining the servers is not : (

We're always up for anyone who feels like donating, even if its just a small bit, it really helps in the long run to help keep things maintained and to help fund upgrades/modifications/etc.

On Saturday, May 12th around 1:00 AM Eastern Time [GMT -5], all of the network servers excluding Faith server and Celeste server (read note at bottom for why), for code upgrades.

This downtime will occur for each server sequentially and should not cause the server to be down more than a few seconds time each.

On Thursday, April 19th around 1:00-3:00 AM Eastern Time [GMT -5], all the network servers will be sequentially taken offline quickly for an IRCd upgrade.

Each server should be down no more than a few seconds each really, it will virtually just be like a quick disconnect and reconnect for every user.
